The call on each person to "influence and leadership" is not about bringing change to THE world, but rather, to change YOUR world.
The concept of leadership is misunderstood by most people to mean "those with global power and universal influence that control all the other little puppets in the world," instantly excluding themselves from the sphere of leadership and influence.
When thinking about leadership, most people imagine "world changers," like Ghandi or Bill Gates, but see themselves as having little or no influence. As a consequence, people believe that they are not leaders.
This perception is simply wrong.
When you realise that Ghandi and Bill Gates did not start their journey as "global influencers," but were merely people with a dream, you will recognise that they both answered a call to change their own individual worlds first.
Stepping out and acting on their personal dream allowed their influence to grow over time, which eventually engulfed the world. Your call is not to immediately affect the whole world, but rather, to first act on the dream inside of you.
"Leadership" is correctly defined as; recognising the dream within, and choosing to deliberately turn it into a reality.
Every person has a dream, even you. Some dreams have global intent, and some are for personal benefit. Regardless of which dream you hold, the moment you choose to turn that dream into reality is the same moment you step into leadership - AND THIS IS YOUR CALLING!
Each one of us has been given just a "piece" of a dream in the "patchwork quilt" of universal life. Failure to live your dream is to allow the "quilt of life" to remain incomplete. You have a role to play. Go ahead and do leadership development. Ready yourself as a "dream worker," prepare yourself to change YOUR world.
